Conferences, Workshops and Speakers
|Workshops are provided to schools and community groups throughout the year that address YWCA’s core mission areas of women’s empowerment, financial and entrepreneurial literacy, and racial justice. Speakers can be requested from the YW-Teens Program for special programs and events at schools, churches and community organizations. The YWCA hosts conferences bi-annually to inspire and empower girls in the greater St. Louis area.
young women's leadership conference
These empowerment conferences connect girls to community resources, leadership training and positive female role models.Interactive workshops cover topics such as leadership, self-esteem, nutrition and wellness, healthy relationships, financial education, diversity, along with college and career planning. The highlight of each conference is the recognition of three teens selected for the Young Leader Award. Girls are nominated by their school and selected by a committee based on demonstration of strong leadership skills, community involvement and academic achievement. Conferences are held in spring for middle school girls and in the fall for high school girls.
